Reflections of New Jersey
We had a whole bunch of fun in Connecticut and New York, but we must move on south. I didn’t know what to expect of New Jersey, but once we got into the countryside we found that it was quite pleasant. There were lots of little farms with the little farm stands selling pumpkins and squash. We found a nice quiet campsite next to a small lake in Wharton State Forest. When I say quiet, I mean dead quiet. There was nobody around. We had the whole campground to ourselves. It was a little eerie. Atsion Lake was nice and calm with a few trees changing colors. We paddled around on the lake for a few hours in the evening. For us, New Jersey is living up to its “Garden State” nickname.

It's hard to imagine that such a gorgeous place is totally empty. You're right; it is creepy to be alone in a campground. Kind of "X-Filish", yes?
This is a beautiful photo.
