Campfire fun

Our neighbors at Limestone Campground needed a jump start for their truck. They were very generous and gave us a great dinner and some drinks. Thanks David, Melissa, Kristin, and Jeff! McKenna was very cute.

Paddling on Lake Isabella

Here's Michelle trying to take a picture of both of us on the kayak. The water level was high enough to cover entire trees. We went paddling through the trees, watching the birds and running into a snake. In the afternoon, the wind picked up causing large waves.

The temperature in Lake Havasu City, AZ was above 100 degrees. The night was hot and there were too many cockroaches, but the kayaking was great!

Staying cool in the pool

We're still in Phoenix. Today we're testing out our underwater camera case in the pool. With the case I'll be able to take digital pictures while we are kayaking.

We had a lot of last minute stuff to do before we leave on our trip. It takes some organization and time to plan a road trip for a year. We will be on our way to Lake Havasu on Monday or maybe Tuesday. We don't have any schedules so we'll go when we feel like going.

A Day Late and a Dollar Short...

...or many dollars short.
Packing took a little longer than expected. I turned in my last paper Friday morning and we have been packing ever since. I had only 5 hours sleep in the past 4 days. A day later than we planned, we finally got to our first destination, Phoenix.

There was an interesting coincidence when we were leaving. The odometer read exactly 6000 miles when we pulled out of our apartment complex for the last time.

Planning
Our storage space.

Fun Fact: Total number of boxes we packed is 103.

I have to thank Ray and Jen For letting us borrow their truck, but I have to say that I had nothing to do with the leaking power steering fluid. I had no idea. Really!

One Week

Planning
Less than seven days left and so much to do. My last day of work was today. Now I have to concentrate on my final exams and my papers that I have to write. Plus we have to get last minute items like cold weather clothing and some camping supplies. It's getting hectic around here. I better get back to writing my paper on the Thai Writing System.
